Enable Java Hardcore mode

This guide shows you how to enable or disable Hardcore behavior on a NolimitHost Minecraft Java Edition server.

Set hardcore=true in server.properties to enable Hardcore behavior. Create a backup first because player death has lasting consequences.

Create a backup — Back up the server before changing Hardcore mode.
Stop the server — Wait for the server to shut down cleanly, so it does not overwrite your changes while you edit the file.
Edit the property — Log in to the NolimitHost Game Panel at https://panel.nolimithost.cc/ and select your Minecraft Java server. In the left sidebar, click File Manager and open server.properties (the main server configuration file), then set:

hardcore=true
```
Restart and verify — Save the file, start the server, and confirm the setting before inviting players.

To disable Hardcore behavior, repeat the procedure with hardcore=false. Remember to stop the server before editing and restart it after saving.

Warning: Disabling Hardcore mode does not automatically restore a dead player's inventory, position, or previous game mode. Restore a backup if you need to reverse world and player changes caused by a death.
