How to Update Your BeamMP Server

Last updated: September 18, 2026

BeamMP releases new server builds regularly to add features and fix bugs. This guide shows you how to update your server to the latest release while keeping your settings, mods, and AuthKey intact.

How Updates Work

By default, your BeamMP server checks for a newer release each time it starts and updates itself automatically. In most cases you only need to restart the server to pick up the latest build.

Option A: Restart to Auto-Update

  1. Log in to the NolimitHost Game Panel and select your BeamMP server.
  2. Open the Console page and stop the server.
  3. Start the server again. Watch the console: the startup banner shows the version it runs, and BeamMP reports if it downloaded a newer build.

Option B: Reinstall from the Panel

If the server is stuck on an older version, force a fresh install of the current release.

  1. Stop the server from the Console page.
  2. Back up ServerConfig.toml and your Resources folder so your settings and mods are safe.
  3. Go to Configuration > Advanced > Reinstall Server and confirm.
  4. After the reinstall finishes, start the server and check the version banner in the console.
Important: Confirm your AuthKey and your Resources folder are still present afterwards. If they were removed, restore them from your backup before starting the server.

Manually Updating on a VPS

If you run BeamMP yourself on a VPS, download the newest release from the BeamMP-Server releases page, stop the server, replace the old server binary, and start it again. Keeping the existing ServerConfig.toml and Resources folder preserves your setup.

Tip: Want to stay on a specific version instead of updating automatically? Disable auto-updates with the ImScaredOfUpdates setting. See Change Your BeamMP Server Version.
