How to Restart a Palworld Server

This guide covers how to restart your Palworld server safely, whether hosted with NolimitHost or as a self-hosted dedicated server.

Restart via NolimitHost Panel

  1. Log into the NolimitHost Game Panel and select your Palworld server.
  2. Locate the Restart button below the server console.
  3. Click it, confirm with Yes, Restart Server.
  4. The server shuts down and automatically starts again.

Set Up Automatic Restarts

Regular restarts help prevent crashes and manage Palworld's known memory leak (when the server slowly uses up more and more RAM over time until it runs out).

  1. Go to Advanced in the left navbar, then the Schedules subtab.
  2. Click Create, give it a name, and set the frequency.
  3. Add a task with Action set to Send power option and Payload set to Restart the server.
  4. Click Submit.

Restart a Self-Hosted Server

  • Graceful shutdown — Use /Shutdown {SECONDS} {MESSAGE} in-game after authenticating as admin (see the admin commands guide).
  • Hard close — Close the server console forcefully. Only for unresponsive loops.

After the server stops, start PalServer.exe (Windows) or use your systemd/script launcher (Linux) to bring it back up.
