The death penalty setting decides what a player loses when they die on your Palworld server. It shapes the server's overall difficulty more than almost any other option. This guide explains each mode and how to change the setting.
| Mode | Effect |
|---|---|
None (0) | Nothing drops. Players respawn with full inventory, equipped gear, and active Pal party. |
Item (1) | Inventory items drop. Equipped weapons, armor, and accessories stay. Active Pal party is unaffected. |
ItemAndEquipment (2) | Inventory items and all equipped gear drop. Pal party is unaffected. |
All | Inventory, equipment, and the player's active Pal party all drop. |
DeathPenalty from All to Item. Check your current value if your server predates this update.
PalWorldSettings.ini is the main configuration file for your server.
Pal/Saved/Config/LinuxServer/PalWorldSettings.ini.DeathPenalty= inside the OptionSettings=(...) line.True and Pals dropped under All are permanently gone instead of sitting in the death chest.True, a player who dies can't respawn at all.OptionSettings line. Check for missing commas or quotation marks.WorldOption.sav instead. This website uses cookies to ensure security, session management, and basic functionality.
