How to Set Up a Private Palworld Server

Make your Palworld dedicated server private by adding a server password. Only players who know the password can join. This guide shows you how to set and use the password.

Set a Password via NolimitHost Panel

  1. Log into the NolimitHost Game Panel and select your Palworld server.
  2. Stop your server first, so it doesn't overwrite your changes while you work.
  3. Open the Palworld Settings tab in the left navbar.
  4. Scroll down to the Server Password field and set your password.
  5. Save and restart your server to apply the change.

Set a Password via Config File

PalWorldSettings.ini is the main configuration file for your server.

  1. Stop your server first, so it doesn't overwrite your changes while you work.
  2. In the left sidebar of your NolimitHost Game Panel, open File Manager and navigate to Pal/Saved/Config/LinuxServer/PalWorldSettings.ini.
  3. Add or update ServerPassword= inside the OptionSettings=(...) line: 
    ServerPassword="MyPassword"
  4. Save the file and restart your server to apply the change.
Note: The server password is different from the admin password. The server password controls who can join your server; the admin password controls who can use admin commands.

How to Join a Private Server

  1. Open Palworld from your Steam Library.
  2. Click Join Multiplayer Game (not the Invite Code option).
  3. At the bottom of the server browser, select connect with the IP address.
  4. Input your server's IP address and port.
  5. Check the Input Password box and type the password.
  6. Click Connect.
