How to Add Moderators to Your American Truck Simulator Server

Moderators are trusted players who can manage the session from in-game chat without needing direct access to your server. You add them by SteamID64 in the moderator_list section of server_config.sii.

Step 1: Find Each Player's SteamID64

SteamID64 is the long 17-digit number tied to a Steam account. You can find it on a player's Steam profile or with a tool such as steamid.io.

Step 2: Stop the Server

In the NolimitHost Game Panel, select your ATS server and stop it from the Console page.

Step 3: Add the Moderators

  1. In the left sidebar, click Files and open server_config.sii.
  2. Replace the default moderator_list: 0 with an indexed list of SteamID64 values: 
     moderator_list: 2
 moderator_list[0]: 76561198012345678
 moderator_list[1]: 76561198087654321
  3. Save the file and start the server again.
Note: The first moderator_list line is the count, followed by one indexed entry per moderator (starting at [0]). If there are no moderators, the value is 0 and there are no indexed lines.

What Moderators Can Do

Moderators are recognised automatically when they join and can use chat commands to manage the session. Common examples include:

/helpList the available moderator commands.
/set_timeChange the in-game time.
/set_rain_factorAdjust the weather.
Important: Only add people you trust with session control. Moderators can change settings that affect everyone connected, so remove anyone who no longer needs access by deleting their entry and restarting.
Tip: Keep a list of your moderators' SteamID64 values somewhere safe so you can restore them quickly after a reset.
