How to Change the Server Name and Description

This guide shows you how to change your server's name and description. These appear in the Vintage Story public multiplayer server browser, so keeping them up to date helps players find and identify your server. Both can be changed live using console commands - no restart required.

Changing the Server Name

Log in to the NolimitHost Game Panel at https://panel.nolimithost.cc/ and select your Vintage Story server. Then go to the Console tab.
Run the following command, replacing [ServerName] with your desired name:
```
/serverconfig name [ServerName]
```
The console will confirm the name has been updated.

Changing the Server Description

In the same console (still on the Console tab), run:
```
/serverconfig description [ServerDescription]
```
Replace [ServerDescription] with the text you want to show under your server name in the browser.
The console will confirm the change.

Note: These commands can also be run in-game if you have admin privileges. For your server to appear in the public server list, server advertising must be enabled - see the Enable Master Server Listing guide.
