How do I create a backup?

This guide shows you how to create a backup of your game server. A backup is a snapshot of your server's files, world data, and configuration saved at a point in time, so you can restore everything if something goes wrong — for example, before an update, a mod install, or a major change.

Note: This guide covers game servers hosted in the NolimitHost Game Panel (such as Minecraft, Rust, FiveM, and Palworld). It does not apply to VPS or cloud servers — those have their own backup options in the Cloud Panel.

Creating a Backup

  1. Log in to the Game Panel — Visit the NolimitHost Game Panel at https://panel.nolimithost.cc/ and sign in with your account.
  2. Select your server — Click on the game server you want to back up.
  3. Open the Backups page — In the left sidebar, click Backups.
  4. Create a new backup — Click the Create button.
  5. Name your backup — Enter a descriptive name that tells you what this backup is for, such as "Before Update", "Clean Install", or "2026-03-28". A clear name makes it much easier to pick the right backup later.
  6. Confirm — Click Create Backup. The backup is created automatically — this can take a few minutes depending on how large your server is.

Tips

  • Name backups clearly — Use descriptive names with dates so you can quickly tell which backup you need.
  • Back up regularly — Create a backup before updates, mod or plugin installs, and any major configuration change.
  • Watch your storage — Backups take up space on your account, so delete old backups you no longer need.
  • Restoring — You can restore from any backup through the Game Panel whenever you need to.
