How to Connect to Your Left 4 Dead 2 Server

Last updated: September 18, 2026

This guide shows you the ways to join your Left 4 Dead 2 server: the Steam server browser, the in-game console, and your Steam favorites.

Find Your Address

Log in to the NolimitHost Game Panel and select your L4D2 server. Your server IP and port are shown on the Dashboard. The default Source port is 27015.

Method 1: In-Game Server Browser

  1. Launch Left 4 Dead 2.
  2. Open the Play menu > Online > Find a Game, then switch to the Custom Server or Steam Group Servers tab.
  3. Search for your server name (the hostname). Your server appears once it has a valid GSLT.

Method 2: The Console

  1. Enable the developer console in Options > Keyboard/Mouse if it is not already on.
  2. Open the console and connect directly:
    connect 123.45.67.89:27015

This works even if your server is not listed publicly.

Method 3: Steam Favorites

  1. In Steam, open View > Game Servers.
  2. Switch to the Favorites tab and click Add a Server.
  3. Enter your IP:Port, add it, then select it and connect.
