How to Join Your SCP: Secret Laboratory Server

This guide shows you the ways to join your SCP: Secret Laboratory server. SCP:SL uses a single UDP port, with 7777 as the default, so you always connect with an IP:Port address.

Find Your Address

Method 1: Direct Connect (Recommended)

Direct Connect bypasses the public server list, so it works even if your server is not yet verified or listed.

Launch SCP: Secret Laboratory (not the server).
In the main menu, open the Servers tab and click Direct Connect.
Enter your address in IP:Port format, for example 123.45.67.89:7777, and click Connect.

Method 2: Server Browser

Open the Servers tab and search for your server name.
Select your server to join it.

Your server only appears here once it is public and has been accepted by the master list. Until then, use Direct Connect.

Saving Servers to Favorites

In-game: click the star icon next to a server, then open the Favorites filter to find it again quickly.
Steam: open View > Servers, switch to Favorites, click Add Server, enter your IP:Port, then connect.

Tip: If players cannot join, confirm the address uses the correct port (default 7777) and that your server is showing as running in the panel console.

Troubleshooting

Problem	Fix
Server not in the browser	It may be private or not yet verified. Join with Direct Connect, and check the console for errors.
Connection times out	Verify the IP and port, and that the server is online. SCP:SL needs UDP `7777` reachable.
Server shows as full	The `max_players` limit was reached. See Configure Your Server.
